Year 6

Below is a copy of the curriculum map for Year 6 which details the learning for the children this year.

Year 6 Curriculum Overview 2018-2019

How can you help?

Work with your child to ensure that their weekly homework is completed and handed in on time.

Spend time, at home, practising weekly spellings with your child.

If your child does not know their times tables, this would be a great starting point at home. As soon as a child knows their times tables up to 12 x 12, they will be able to apply this knowledge to a range of mathematical problems. All times table facts should be secured and fluent by the end of Year 4.

All classes have been working hard this week in DT. We have been practising threading needles, knotting thread and sewing using different types of stitches.

6CD and 6LT have been having lots of fun recently in gymnastics. They have been improving their flexibility and strength!

Within our R.E topic, Vocation and Commitment, we have been learning about the stages of Ordination. Some of the children created freeze frames to show what happens at each stage.
