FORMULATION OF SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The School Development Plan has been formulated as a result of a whole school shared Inset Day where all staff members came together to discuss many aspects of SMMJ.

As a result of shared values and understanding the whole staff discussed and interacted to develop best practice to progress this year’s School Development Plan.  Everyone’s ideas were considered and each group was represented to enable the school to have the very best opportunity for success.

The revised School Development Plan sits within the context of everyone’s view and as a result there are four key aims which will drive the plan forward:

Aim 1 – Pupil Premium

To diminish the difference between the progress made by Pupil Premium and non Pupil Premium children in reading, writing and maths.

Aim 2 – Reading, Writing & GPS

Raise attainment and accelerate progress in reading and GPS.

Aim 3 – Assessment of Foundation Subjects & Raising Standards across the Curriculum

To embed the assessment system for foundation subjects so that all pupils are challenged and make good progress.  To achieve the Arts Mark Gold and Maths Counts Award to continuously raise standards.

Aim 4 – Attendance & Punctuality

To raise attendance to at least the national average of 96% and reduce the number of late arrivals to school each day (5% by July 2018)

If anyone requires any further in depth information in relation to the aims detailed above please contact the school direct on 0151 477 8490
